Hemp Technologies plans to start construction on this Tradical Hemcrete Showroom on our property at 48 Swannanoa River Road, Asheville, NC 28805 in March, 2010

Combining site harvested lumber, reclaimed cardboard and hemp insulation together with Solar and Wind technology, this will be another first for USA, showcasing all our sustainable and renewable building materials, open to the public.

Hemp Technologies, LLC has partnered with Think Green Building, Eco Concepts Realty and Development, the Natural Development Initiative to build the first "PassivHaus" in the USA using Tradical® Hemcrete®. 

Through a combination of  passive solar design, a super-insulated building envelope, interior thermal mass, high performance windows and doors  and careful construction detailing the buildings will be 80% more energy efficient than present code mandates, creating a healthy, comfortable indoor environment without need for a furnace or air conditioning. This “state of the art” building science will be combined with site-harvested materials, rainwater harvesting, greywater irrigation and a lush edible landscape and habitat to produce urban infill homesteads in the heart of West Asheville, NC. This NauHaus will also be "Platinum LEED" certified!
